NRMCA STEPS and CCPf

Mr. Sparkman was in the inaugural class of Certified Concrete Professionals for the NRMCA STEPS program in 2007 and earned his first CCPf in the Sales and Marketing track. In 2010 he completed the requirements to achieve a second CCPf designation in the Sustainability track, becoming the first person to complete the requirement for this track. In 2013, he completed the requirements to earn his 3rd STEPS CCPf designation (Concrete Technology). Note: Sparkman is also an NRMCA Green-Star Plant Auditor and renewed his certification as an NRMCA Pervious Concrete Craftsman in 2015.

TCA places a high value on our partnership with NRMCA. This is borne out by the number of NRMCA programs TCA delivers in Tennessee (see the Education section). TCA is also pleased to have a permanent spot on the agenda of our Annual Convention for an NRMCA speaker. Bob Garbini was our 2015 speaker for NRMCA and did an excellent job in representing NRMCA to our membership. TCA is also proud to have supported the RMC Foundation for the last 10 years with an annual pledge of $1,000.

Combating the

Wood Industry's Push into Markets

TCA strongly supports NRMCA’s initiative to combat the wood industry’s push into the low and mid-rise commercial market. In 2015, TCA invited brand-new NRMCA staff member Gregg Lewis to Tennessee to participate in training future architects to make the concrete choice. Mr. Lewis spent a full day with students participating in the UT College of Architecture Summer Studio program (see more detail in the Innovation Section) and gave the students a solid foundation from which to make a concrete choice.
