Media & Communications 

Because communication increasingly takes place online (or on our smart phone), TCA is shifting our communications effort in response. As this became increasingly clear, TCA launched a major update to our website in 2016. We continue to publish our long-running Tennessee Concrete in print format, but all issues of the magazine are also archived on our website at www.tnconcrete.org.

 

Our website is the access point for nearly everything we do at TCA. From here, you can register for events and sign up for a certification class. You can jump to the TCA Career Center, go to our online learning center (soon to be the Concrete Career Academy) or click to see a calendar of all the upcoming events. Since our major update of the tnconcrete.org site in 2016, the site has continued to improve and to provide ever more access to important concrete information. Our website is supplemented by our Facebook page, as well as our TCA Member Update that goes out periodically to keep members in the know about TCA events and activities.

 

Since 2016, we have created a special purpose web site to host our State Association of the Year application. This provides the easiest possible way for judges to access our information and it demonstrates how TCA uses technology to communicate with members and customers quickly and effectively. 

Websites & Social Media: www.tnconcrete.org  is TCA’s official website. We also maintain an active Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/tnconcrete/) as well as a Twitter feed. Our website underwent a major overhaul in 2016 and includes significantly more information, including expanded use of photos and videos. We are utilizing modern tools to streamline both registration and payments for our events, making it easier for customers to access our services and information. Using Facebook insights this year, we were able to be more targeted about our posts to deliver content that was relevant to our members and that they want to share with their Facebook friends. The posts above were shared 13 times and reached audiences of over 1,100 people.

TCA Event APP

In 2016, TCA also began to use CrowdCompass' event app for our three biggest events: Fall Board Meeting, Annual Convention, and the Tri-State Summer Meeting in Florida. Planning sessions, speaker bios, sponsor ads, and attendee information have made this a very effective and popular tool. We are able to upload new content immediately at the event site which allows us to give attendees updated conference materials in real time.

Tennessee Concrete Magazine – our flagship publication, founded in 1987. Our direct circulation is about 4000 individuals. While TCA members receive the publication, the primary target audience is the concrete customer.
