NRMCA Involvement

A part of something bigger than ourselves

Overview

  • We offer the following NRMCA certifications in Tennessee:

    • Volumetric Mixer Operator Certification Review and Exam

    • Proctoring of NRMCA Technical re-certifications, as needed

  • To expand professional education offerings, Alan Sparkman and John Pearson attended NRMCA’s Adjunct Faculty Training, enabling TCA to offer new courses in 2026 including Think Like an Owner, Supervisors Course, and Concrete Fundamentals.

  • TCA has for several years sponsored and conducted a pervious concrete review session and written exam at World of Concrete and will conduct the final session.

  • In addition to more than two decades of support for the CCSP classes, Executive Director Alan Sparkman also serves as an active member on the NRMCA Business Advancement Committee, and on the NRMCA Workforce Committee.

  • TCA 2025 Annual Convention – TCA provided a tabletop for NRMCA’s Jeannette Munroe and Andrew Tyrrell, and we conducted a raffle at the NRMCA table to attract visitors. Raffle proceeds and donations totaling over $750 each were raised for the ConcretePAC fund and The Concrete Advancement Foundation.

  • In March, TCA supported the NRMCA Annual Convention by attending, and we provided the ConcretePac Silent Auction with a Tennessee state basket with items donated by Alan Sparkman.

  • Concrete Advancement Foundation Support -– Our total pledge giving to date is over $19,000. Alan Sparkman was both a participant and an individual sponsor of the 2025 Walk for Wellness at NRMCA’s Concrete Works in Orlando.

  • TCA utilized NRMCA staff (Amanda Hult, P.E.) as speaker for a presentation at the 2025 Tennessee Engineers Conference.

  • TCA has participated in the NRMCA program to provide social media posts to state associations since its inception. This is a great way for states and NRMCA to amplify a common message about concrete through social media.
