Student Hub
TCA Student Hub: A Comprehensive Resource for the Next Generation of Concrete Professionals
This year, TCA launched a Student Hub, a dedicated webpage designed to serve as a centralized home base for high school students exploring careers in the concrete industry. This innovative platform consolidates all of TCA’s resources, programs and opportunities into one easily accessible location, providing students with the tools they need to learn about the industry and take their first steps toward a successful career.

The Student Hub includes several key features:

-
Concrete Quest: An interactive educational game that offers students a fun way to learn about concrete, earn certificates for their resumes and compete for prizes like Amazon gift cards.
-
Essay Contest: A chance for students to showcase their writing skills, with cash prizes and the opportunity to be published in the Tennessee Concrete Magazine. We had 127 essays submitted in 2024.
-
Explore Careers in Concrete: A comprehensive resource that highlights diverse career paths in the concrete industry, such as ready mix operations, engineering, and contracting. This section connects students directly with TCA member companies through job postings and engaging videos. Every TCA member is included in this directory, and members can customize their listings to reflect their unique opportunities. Linked directly from the Student Hub and available under the Workforce tab, this feature is a standout member benefit and plays a critical role in bridging the gap between students and potential employers, ensuring a stronger workforce pipeline for the industry.
-
Skate4Concrete: Information about the hands-on Skate4Concrete program, including competition guidelines for building mini concrete skateparks.
-
Be Pro Be Proud TN: Details about the mobile career exploration workshop, where students can try activities like a concrete truck driving simulator.
Why We Created the Student Hub
The Student Hub was developed in response to a growing need for a centralized, user-friendly resource to connect students with educational tools and career opportunities in the concrete industry. TCA recognized that students and educators often face barriers in accessing relevant industry information, and the Student Hub was created to address this gap.

This webpage serves as a one-stop shop, streamlining access to TCA’s programs and making it easier for students to engage with the concrete industry. When TCA representatives visit trade shows, schools or community events, they direct students and educators to the Student Hub for comprehensive information about everything TCA has to offer. By housing resources like Concrete Quest and Skate4Concrete alongside career exploration tools, the Student Hub ensures students have everything they need to explore and prepare for careers in the industry.

The hub also provides educators with a centralized platform to access teaching materials, program details and application guidelines, making it a valuable tool for CTE teachers looking to integrate industry-specific content into their classrooms.
Impact and Shaping the Future Workforce
The launch of the Student Hub has already made a significant impact on how TCA engages with students and educators. By consolidating resources into a single platform, TCA has created an efficient and user-friendly way to connect with the next generation of concrete professionals. Students can easily discover programs that match their interests, learn about career opportunities and take tangible steps toward building their futures. The Student Hub is playing a key role in building awareness about careers in concrete and encouraging students to pursue opportunities in this vital industry.

Looking ahead, TCA sees the Student Hub as a critical tool in its long-term workforce development strategy. By providing students with accessible, engaging and practical resources, the Student Hub is helping to bridge the gap between education and employment, ensuring a steady pipeline of skilled professionals ready to support Tennessee’s concrete industry for years to come.
